When a Gillick competency consent is submitted using the RIVIAM Mobile App, it is also created in the RIVIAM Web and is assigned to the school where it was recorded.

Gillick competency referral numbers

Gillick competency referral numbers have a different format from parental consent. For example:

The MG stands for Mobile Gillick.

You will also see on the referral document PDF, which has the title Gillick consent form and the name of the clinician who completed the form, the student's responses to the Gillick assessment, the student's signature, and the outcome recorded.

Referral details section

The referral details section will show that the consent is a Gillick competency consent.

Not Gillick competent

For consents that have been assessed and are not Gillick competent, these are recorded as having no responses to the Gillick competency questions, with the reason for declining consent being Not Gillick competent.

Timeline events

Users can also see from the timeline events that this consent was created using the RIVIAM Mobile app device. It will also give the clinician’s name who recorded the consent and outcome.

Email notifications

When a student is assessed as Gillick competent and vaccinated, the Gillick competency consent is recorded, and the outcome is processed in RIVIAM Web. The student will receive a consent confirmation email and a vaccination notification email confirming that they have consented and that they have been vaccinated. For students who are assessed as not Gillick competent and not vaccinated, no emails are sent.
