This functionality enables customers who are using bookable immunisation programmes to allow nurses to book appointments for existing consents.
The "Book an appointment" button will become accessible if the child:
- Has a consent status as "Consent given" or "Consent not given".
- The child has not already received the vaccine.
- The child does not already have an existing booking in a clinic.
The "Book an appointment" button will be disabled if the child's consent;
- Has been outcomed as "given" with the vaccine already.
- Has been "declined out of cohort" or "clinically declined".
- Has an existing booking.
Once you click the "Book an appointment" button, a new tab opens. It will show at the top the clinician's name and the referral number of the child you are booking the appointment for:
Please, ensure those details are correct because sometimes browsers do cache.
Fill in the details of the booking. Once submitted, you should see in the timeline of the referral, the details of the booking just made.
A booking symbol will also appear next to their name in the school list, indicating that this child has a booking at a community clinic.
If a child has a booking in a clinic, and the Immunisations team generate a clinic for the school the child attends, the child's name will be excluded from the clinic list.
When the Immunisations team generate a clinic for the bookable clinic, the child's name will appear on that clinic list.
If the children do not attend the appointment, you will need to cancel the booking and this way the child will appear in the school clinic list. Otherwise, the 'Book an appointment' button will reappear in their patient record and you have the option to re-book into another community clinic location if required.
