Flu consents will be sent to the usual triage queues based on the responses contained in the eConsent form.
New Step – Vaccine Conflict
If a parent submits a consent for the nasal Flu vaccine and then changes their preference to the IM Flu vaccine then RIVIAM will match the two consents as primary and duplicate but send it to the Vaccine conflict queue.
IMPORTANT: Clinicians must triage these consents BEFORE they generate a mobile clinic or a clinic spreadsheet. They should contact the parent to confirm which vaccine type has to be administered and then clinically decline the remaining consent. This will ensure that the child's name will appear once on the correct vaccine type clinic list (NOT BOTH).
*Vaccine conflict step is not the same as Conflicting consent.
How to change Nasal consent to IM consent or IM consent to Nasal
We recommend that if you need to change a Flu IM to Nasal then
- Ask the parent to submit another consent giving consent to the alternative vaccine type.
- The new consent will be queued to the new Vaccine Conflict.
- Clinically decline the consent with the wrong vaccine type.
IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT UPDATE REFERRAL DETAILS AS THIS WILL NOT CHANGE THE VACCINE TYPE.
